Welcome Message
Harvest what we need, share with others.
Starting the school year in September, so close to harvest times for many communities, is a good reminder to harvest only what we need and to share with others. And to be thankful that we can do both.
Harvesting and sharing sets the tone for the year to come – and for our work together.
In this newsletter, we are sharing resources for teaching as well as for new opportunities. And I think we can harvest some inspiration from the good news we share as well.
Our next meeting will take place on Thursday, September 18 from 9 – 11. An agenda and Zoom link will be sent via email.
If you have anything to add to the agenda, please let Tracy know!
If you missed the last meeting, you can see the agenda and summary here.

This poster is our gift to you this month.
The poster is part of a growing series of small posters to honour teachers & learning. Here is a folder of the images with and without the IAEN logo.
Feel free to use them and add your own logo if you like. (To add your logo or make changes, make a copy of the file called ‘_copy to modify teacher appreciation des enseignants.’) Here is a video that shows how to do that.
The images used are all from pixabay.com or pexels.com, unless otherwise noted, and are in the public domain.
This month’s poster includes the question, “Harvesting and sharing. How can these actions be applied to learning,” and an image of a corn field in the fall, at sunset.
Carpentry Resources
Many communities have started to teach carpentry and with that has come the search for English language resources to support our instructors and learners.
The Indigenous Adult Education Network purchased a license for TeachConstruction resources. These include instructor and student materials like: Video lessons, Presentations, Student handouts, Quizzes, Build guides, and Skills exercises.
The student resources are organized on a protected website. You will need a password to access most of the site. Please contact Tracy if you would like to use these resources with your students.

Key priorities for the role include:

- Strategically positioning the FPCI within its funding ecosystem, supporting influence initiatives with major corporations, developing strong partnerships, and ensuring the organization’s financial sustainability.
- Evolving the FPCI’s offerings by supporting high-potential projects, nurturing internal talent and the next generation of leaders, and creating the conditions for successful project deployment.

Last Newsletter
The Spring & Summer newsletter had a lot of information – from the Mikon project, RAC resources, a fabulous new curriculum guide for Pet Grooming, and some good news stories.
Good News Stories!
So many good things happen across the Indigenous Adult Education Network! We are reviving the Network’s Good News Stories from two years ago and are looking forward to sharing more throughout the year. We have one – and its a really good one! – to share with you this month.

The student quotes are paraphrased from a video series called Building our Future, created in collaboration with UQAM, the students, and educators from each community.
They were filmed in the communities of Kitiganik and Gesgapegiag. The videos are touching and inspiring – true testaments to the work the students and educators put into these programs.
